Videos from the Fall

Early season is a great time to find and build spots.

When the snow guns fire up, it's even better. Here are highlights from a few November sessions making the most out of the frozen piles of man-made snow.

Winter XGames 13

Jumbotrons, double back flips, and spongy taco shaped hats. What's not to love about the Winter Xgames!

Fact is, all eyes are on Aspen for 4 action packed days in January. At the heart of the base area festivities, FUSE staked claim on some prime space to host the X-Fest Snowskate Park. Fueled up on Warheads Candy, kids of all ages lined up to ride a FUSE on the hits and features. An open amatuer contest saw some skilled individuals take home a grip of product for the top spots. The pro division, the FUSE Snowskate Showdown, showed the crowd what's possible today on a snowskate. Top 3 riders were awarded super custom trophies and prize packs.

Mid-West Tour

Mid-West kids are pumped!

The common theme out there is make the most of what you've got. If the local ski hill is small that just means more laps on the high speed rope tow!

With a trailer full of demo product, rails, and boxes FUSE kicked things off in Minneapolis. It was great meeting up with all the classic shops and people keeping the scene real: Cal Surf, The Alt, and Zombie. Ski hills Hyland, Theodore Wirth, Buck Hill all show big potential for snowskating. There's even a backyard setup that rival some of the local parks equiped with snow guns, lights, and some worthy rails and wall rides.

Off to Deluth and a 3 day on-snow demo at Spirit mountain. Shops, Damaged and Freestyle of Deluth were stoked on the product and were glad to post up flyers and hand out Starfish Snowskate mags. Spirit went off and kids who had never even seen the FUSE 4x where laying down their skate tricks in a just a few trys. Some kids wouldn't leave and came back day after day. Some fun best trick contest kept the crowd stoked in the freezing cold of Deluth and there was plenty of stickers and shwag to go around.

Down to Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago we went dropping in on more ski areas and shops: Focus, Moda 3, Tyrol Basin, Cascade Mountain, and Christmas Village. Raging Buffalo was the last but not least stop before heading back to CO. This place rules with a solid local following. With only a couple rope tows, janky booters, and a few rail lines, the stoke of the local crew shows that mid-west riders will make the most of whatever's in front of them.

Ralston Cup

The Ralston Cup went down early March at Sierra At Tahoe.

This event is the creation of Danny Sheehan of Ralston Snowskates. Beyond who places top 3 in slope and slalom, this contest is about getting snowskaters together to hang out and rage it up.

For FUSE, it was a chance to ride some new generation skates and meet the people that are doing it. Where the 4x leaves off the 1x takes over and is the proper tool for all mountain ripping. Adam at Florida Powder Skate opened up a whole new world of possibilities with his quiver of skates that not only cruise packed in-bounds conditions but take you into the steep and deep natty terrain. Pat Bonser plays host to the apre happenings with a sick backyard setup, keg, and BBQ. Tee shirts and stickers were swapped and nobody died.

Snowboarder Mag

Our friends at Snowboarder Magazine hooked it up with 2 installments of contest giveaways on snowboardermag.com. Simply check out a sick little FUSE clip, fill in a bit of info, and your entered to win FUSE product. Contest 2 is still on!

Buyers Guide

Starfish X4

Starfish rules. It's raw and gritty much like a crusty old starfish.

It's also the world's leading authority and go to guide for all things snowskate. Tim Leavitt makes it happen and ensures snowskating doesn't come off too seriously; no Olympic dreams here unless your talking about the Holy Oly on the Olympic Penninsula. Starfishes are free at select shops or available for subscription at www.starfishsnowskatemagazine.com. FUSE has had a lock on the back page for some time now.

Oh yeah, and FUSE scored it's first Starfish cover for the April issue. Tight shakas on that!

Ad Campaign

In case Snowboarder, Snowboard, and the now defunct Future Snowboard magazines did not find there way next to your toilet, here are a season's worth of FUSE ads for your mind control.

1X, here you go

Dant da na naaa! You may have guessed this one by now, but FUSE is going bi, that's 1X. One ski, bi level. Product testing and design refinements have been in full swing. Models go from short to long and are designed for technical tricks through big mountain assault. FUSE adds it's own flavor to riding all mountain and looks to step up the level in the upcoming season. You know FUSE will bring it raw and ritcheous. For now, here is a glimpse of the R&D days.

CB Snowskating legal

It just wouldn't be right if the home Mt. didn't allow lift served snowskating.

Crested Butte did allow snowskating for a while. And, then it was only allowed every other Tue. And Wed. afternoons or something. Then, as I found out one afternoon, it wasn't allowed at all! After weeks of riding the chairs with homies, the party was over.

The last week of the season was devoted to getting through to mt. management. On the final day, after a brief meeting and a cruiser run with a patrol, we were in. It will prove to be the ultimate experiment to see what happens here at the Butte.
